We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and would like you to feel at ease during your visit. We process data that are recorded in connection with visits to our website in compliance with applicable legislation governing data protection and data security.
General collection of data
Please read the information on Vector’s data protection policy and the data protection statement on the Vector website, which are available at https://vector.com/privacy-policy/. This data protection statement also applies to our Career page as well as to online applications.
Collection and processing of personal data
We will store the personal data that we use to process your application only if you provide your consent when you submit your application. We exercise maximum care and integrity to ensure that your personal information and data are collected, stored and used only for the purposes intended. In that regard, we collect only data needed by Vector or a company of the Vector Group in connection with your application. A legitimate interest in the storage of data provides the legal basis for processing pursuant to Art.88(1) GDPR in conjunction with §26(1) BDSG. The data that we collect will be erased after your application is processed. Legal record keeping requirements remain unaffected.
You consent to have your data processed and transmitted exclusively in connection with your application. You confirm that the information you provide is truthful. You are also aware that untruthful statements can result in termination of employment if you are hired by Vector.
Your online application
After your data are entered, they will be transmitted directly to the server of our external service provider via an encrypted connection. All data are encrypted using the TLS protocol. The TLS encryption protocol is also used if you log in with the user data made available to you after you register.
A legitimate interest in the storage of data provides the legal basis for processing pursuant to Art.88(1) GDPR in conjunction with § 26(1) BDSG since it is necessary to collect the data for the application process.
In the event we enter into an employment agreement with you as applicant in our capacity as controller, the data will be transmitted for the purposes of processing in connection with employment in compliance with the law (see Art.88(1) GDPR in conjunction with § 26 BDSG). If we do not enter into an employment agreement with you, your application documents will be automatically erased three months after we notify you accordingly except in the case of legitimate reasons for not doing so or in the case of the existence of a legal basis for retaining such documents. A legal ground for further storage would exist, for example, if you are interested in having us store or retain your application documents for a longer period of time. That would be the case if you have informed us that you are also interested in other positions with our company and would therefore also like to be considered in the case of future openings. In such cases, we will store your application documents for the duration of one year and at the end of that year ask you whether you would like us to keep your application on file.
Data security
Your data are hosted for processing by a provider pursuant to Art.28 GDPR. Both Vector and the provider will take technical and organizational measures to ensure that your data are protected against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons. Our security measures are constantly enhanced to reflect improvements in technology.
